Pastor Yaves M. Ellis

Yaves M. Ellis serves as the lead pastor of New Birth Christian Ministries in Columbus, OH. The Columbus Dispatch ranked Yaves as a top young professional under 40 and Who’s Who in Black Columbus featured him as early as 16 years old. Appointed by the Mayor of Columbus, Yaves serves as an advisor to the City of Columbus Chief of Police; and has been a voice for social change. As a writer and producer, he has curated a number of Billboard charting releases. 

A graduate of The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business, Mr. Ellis has successfully navigated the entertainment and music industry releasing a number of successful projects. As a marketing professional, he worked as the Promotions Director for Radio One Columbus and established his own consulting and film firm Canvaas Consulting LLC, working with Fortune 500 brands. Yaves and his wife Bonita launched a real- estate investment firm, with interest in creating fair and equitable housing.
He says that his greatest joy does not come from his business ventures and accomplishments, but from spending time with his amazing wife Bonita and their two children.
