About the Learning Extension Center


A Learning Extension Center model is designed to offer a space that is safe that offers Wi-Fi. 

 

New Birth Christian Ministries will host a Learning Extension Center in CCS Region 2. Although we are located in Region 2, we recognize and understand that due to School Lottery, we may have students in our area that attend schools in other regions, and are more than happy to extend services to those students as well. 

 

We are working, adjusting, and striving to remain adaptable as we navigate this season. Although our LEC will operate as a Drop-In Center+, we will offer tutoring services, as well as incentives to encourage the students to use our "welcoming safe space" as often as is needed. 

 

Our goal is to offer a safe space, support, and resources to support students in continuing their educational journey during the COVID-19 pandemic and virtual learning environment at the current level or above as their past experience through offering the following:

 

  • Provide training for Parents and Students in support of them navigating this virtual environment and educational process
  • Provide educational and tutoring support services and assistance
  • Offer support to address food insecurity

 

At this time, we will open our doors to 34 students at one time; however, we anticipate that we will have the capacity to service more students since we are operating as a Drop-In Center. 

 

We are ordering necessary supplies to adhere to the protocols established by the CDC. All individuals entering the LEC will be required to wear masks and maintain social distancing as required. 

 

+Families who register with our LEC via our website, www.newbirthcm.org, or via this link  https://forms.gle/n3QkNjG8QkQ6rQqp6, we will work to connect them with a tutor that they would meet with regularly, when possible.
